📜 TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE

1. Definitions

Company – Charlies UK Events Ltd trading as Charlie’s Crazy Bouncy Castles
Hirer / Client / You – The person, organisation, school or venue making the booking
Equipment – Any inflatable, soft play, game, machine or hire item supplied
Booking Fee – Non-refundable payment required to secure a booking
Event Date – The agreed hire date


2. Formation of Contract

A legally binding contract is formed once a booking is accepted and the booking fee is paid.
By booking, you confirm you are over 18 and agree to these Terms.


3. Bookings & Availability

Availability does not guarantee delivery/collection times.
Outdoor hires are typically delivered between 06:30 – 11:00 and collected from 17:00 onwards unless agreed otherwise.

The Hirer is responsible for:

  • Venue permission
  • Landowner consent
  • Any required licences

4. Payments

  • Booking fee is non-refundable
  • Full balance must be paid before delivery
  • We operate a cashless system – no payments are taken on site
  • Failure to pay may result in cancellation

We reserve the right to recover:

  • Outstanding balances
  • Cleaning, damage or late fees

5. Delivery, Parking & Access

Safe and suitable access must be provided.

You must inform us in advance of:

  • Parking restrictions
  • Permits / red routes
  • Limited access

Failure to do so may result in:

  • Additional charges
  • Cancellation without refund

Minimum access width: 1 metre


6. Space Requirements

You must ensure enough space is available.

Minimum clearance:

  • 1 metre at sides
  • 1.5 metres at front

If space is unsuitable on arrival:
➡️ Setup may be refused
➡️ Booking remains fully chargeable


7. Ground & Surface

Suitable surfaces:

  • Grass
  • Indoor halls
  • Artificial sports surfaces

Unsuitable:

  • Gravel
  • Mud
  • Slopes
  • Decking

If unsafe, we will not set up and no refund will be issued.


8. Anchoring & Setup

Inflatables must be securely anchored.

  • Grass: pegged into ground
  • Hard surfaces: bolted (additional charge may apply)

You accept:

  • Small holes may be made and refilled
  • Anchoring is non-negotiable for safety

9. Power Supply

A safe RCD-protected power supply is required.

Failure to provide:
➡️ Setup refusal
➡️ No refund

Generators can be provided at extra cost.


10. Responsibility During Hire

Once set up and staff leave:

➡️ FULL responsibility transfers to the Hirer

Equipment must:

  • Not be moved
  • Not be tampered with

11. Supervision & Safe Use

A responsible adult must supervise at all times.

Rules:

  • No shoes
  • No food or drink
  • No face paint, glitter, confetti, silly string
  • No sharp objects
  • No animals

Failure to follow rules may result in termination of hire.


12. Behaviour Policy

  • Children’s equipment is not for adult use unless stated
  • No intoxicated users
  • Unsafe behaviour = immediate shutdown

No refunds will be given.


13. Weather & Safety (IMPORTANT)

Inflatables must not be used in unsafe weather.

This includes:

  • Wind/gusts exceeding 24mph
  • Heavy rain
  • Storm conditions

We reserve the right to cancel, refuse or stop hire at any time if conditions are unsafe.

If WE cancel due to weather:

  • Booking remains chargeable
  • A credit note will be issued (excluding booking fee)
  • Valid for 12 months
  • Can be transferred to family/friends

No refunds will be issued
(as weather is outside our control)

We may offer:

  • Date change
  • Indoor alternative

Final safety decision = Company only


14. Delivery Refusal / Unsafe Conditions

We may refuse or stop hire due to:

  • Unsafe access
  • Unsafe setup area
  • No power
  • Aggressive behaviour

➡️ Booking treated as late cancellation
➡️ No refund


15. Damage, Loss & Cleaning

You are responsible for all equipment during hire.

Charges may include:

  • Repair or replacement
  • Cleaning (minimum £100+)
  • Severe mess/damage (from £250+)
  • Loss of earnings

16. Staff Safety

Abuse or aggression towards staff will not be tolerated.

➡️ Staff may leave immediately
➡️ Booking remains fully chargeable


17. Evidence & Disputes

We may rely on:

  • Photos/videos
  • Staff reports
  • Delivery logs
  • Messages/emails

18. Chargebacks

Fraudulent chargebacks will be challenged using evidence.

We reserve the right to:

  • Recover funds
  • Take legal action

19. Cancellations

  • More than 48 hours: booking fee retained
  • Within 48 hours: full balance payable
  • On the day: full charge applies

20. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure due to events outside our control including:

  • Severe weather
  • Road closures
  • Vehicle breakdown
  • Government restrictions

21. Liability & Insurance

We hold £5 million Public Liability Insurance.

Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.


22. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by England & Wales law.


23. Acceptance

By booking, you confirm you have read, understood and accepted these Terms.
